“a Lamp to my feet. a Light for my path.” – Psalm 70:1

TODAY’S WORD…

Please, God, rescue me!

Come quickly, Lord, and help me.

– Psalm 70:1

REFLECTION…

Undoubtedly the Lord wants to restore us and to heal us, but equally true is that there are many clouds in our sky and the idea of trials and troubles, distresses us.  We must never be afraid to express ourselves and our sorrow to the Lord.

Do not be afraid to express your heart before the Lord, even your sorrow. Do not be ashamed to cry. Trials test our love for God by how we react to them. If we love ourselves more than God we will rebel, become upset and bitter. But if we supremely love God, and trust in Him, and mean it when we say “Your will be done!”, then we will find ourselves thanking Him for what He is accomplishing in us…through our troubles!

QUOTES…

“It is good when a Christian gets into a lot of hot water…it keeps him clean!”   – G. K. Chesterton

“And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.  To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”   – 1 Peter 5:10-11

PRAYER…

Please, God, rescue me!

Come quickly, Lord, and help me.

My Lord and my God,

rescue me from my troubles;

rescue me from myself.

Come quickly, O Lord, my God,

I love You

and I need You by my side.

Thank You, Lord.  Amen.
