TODAY’S WORD…
.
Jesus said,
"Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works
and give glory to your Father who is in heaven"
– Matthew 5:16
Do everything without complaining or arguing,
so that you may be innocent and pure as God’s perfect children,
who live in a world of corrupt and sinful people.
You must shine among them like stars lighting up the sky.
– Philippians 2:14-15

REFLECTION…
.
In the midst of a world
which increasingly appears to be turning its back on God, on morality and on values,
we Christians should not allow ourselves to act other than in an "innocent and pure" way
– in a way that befits children of God.
Our general behaviour;
our words and deeds;
the philosophies we adhere to;
the fashions we follow;
the values we subscribe to;
– everything matters.
By drawing inspiration from Jesus and from our faith,
our work and our social dealings will be like "stars lighting up the sky",
showing everyone the way – with the light of Christ.
QUOTE…
.
"All Christians should make Christ present among men;
they ought to act in such a way
that those who know them sense ‘the fragrance of Christ’ (cf. 2 Cor 2:15).
People should be able to recognise the Master in His disciples"
– St. Josemaria Escriva
PRAYER…
Lord, I so want to be a “light” – for You.
Rid me of my impurities, O Lord.
Refine me, O Holy One,
and use me
to reflect some of Your light on all those around me.
Amen.
