TODAY’S WORD…
.
Judgement is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy;
yet mercy triumphs over judgement.
.
– James 2:13

REFLECTION…
.
Our Lord tells us,
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. (Mt 5:7)
With the judgement you pronounce you will be judged,
and the measure you give will be the measure you get.” (Mt 7:2)
.
Mercy triumphs over condemnatory judgement
– those who practice mercy
will be confident and even happy to face God’s judgement,
because they know that God will show them mercy.

QUOTE…
.
“When the just King sits in judgement, who will claim to be pure of heart?
Who will boast of being free from sin?
What hope could there be if mercy did not prevail over judgement?
But that mercy will be applied to those who are themselves merciful.”
.
– St. Augustine
