TODAY’S WORD…
Jesus warned, “There will always be temptations to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!”
– Luke 17:1
REFLECTION…
We must not tempt others – in any manner. If we, through charm, allure or seduction, suggestion or encouragement, deceit or whichever act persuade and cause others to sin (in thought or in deed), and to break God’s commandments, we will be gravely responsible for our action. The person who leads others into sin, by whichever means, destroys their souls. Such action disrupts, corrupts, defiles and ruins.
That is why God is so opposed to anyone who tempts others to sin, and why these are so guilty in His eyes. That is why Jesus is so definite when He warns: “what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!”
PRAYER…
My Lord,
how often have my words, my provocations or actions,
caused others to sin and to be led astray?
Please forgive me, Lord.
Please forgive those who sinned through me.
I am sorry, Lord,
and I beg Your pardon for my wrong-doings
and for whenever I have been a source of sin for others.
Create in me a clean heart, Lord,
strengthen my faith and reinforce my love for You,
so that I may always spread virtue, and never immorality.
I ask this, O Lord Jesus Christ,
so that my soul might fully magnify and glorify You.
Amen.
