TODAY’S WORD…
.
Remember how generous the Lord Jesus was:
He was rich, but He became poor for your sake,
to make you rich out of His poverty.
.
– 2 Corinthians 8:9
.

.
REFLECTION…
.
Our Lord, in His Incarnation and throughout His life,
gave us a wonderful example of generosity and detachment.
.
Our Lord, because He is God, was in need of nothing;
but by becoming man
He voluntarily despoiled Himself of the splendour of His divinity
and lived on earth as a poor man
– from His birth in poverty in Bethlehem to His death on the cross.

PRAYER…
.
My Lord, my King, teach me
how to be generous, like You,
in my love for others.
.
Teach me Lord,
how to put love for You and for others
above all else.
.
Teach me
how to not let possessiveness and greed
obscure the path You have laid out for me.
.
Teach me
how to joyfully leave it all in your Hands,
that Your will be done.
.
Amen.
