TODAY’S WORD…
.
Happy are those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers;
but their delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on His law they meditate day and night.
.
They are like trees
planted by streams of water,
which yield their fruit in its season,
and their leaves do not wither.
In all that they do, they prosper.
.
– Psalm 1:1-3 (NRSV)

REFLECTION…
.
We are indeed very much like a tree
– we need nourishment,
and our prime source of spiritual nourishment, is Jesus
He provides all that we need
to grow,
to prosper,
and to bear fruit.
.
Unlike us, of course, trees cannot choose for themselves where to be planted,
in our case, we are free to decide.
.
It is so sad to see Christians, who were originally “planted” by the True Source of Life,
taking a conscious decision,
and moving away from the Lord for their own misguided and selfish reasons.

.
PRAYER…
.
Thank You, Lord, for Your Water of Life that never runs dry.
