TODAY’S WORD…
.
To You I lift up my eyes,
to You who dwell in the heavens.
.
– Psalm 123:1 (TJB)

.
REFLECTION…
.
I lift up my eyes…in supplication and prayer…
to my God.
.
Isn’t it special
that we humans feel naturally prompted to look up when we address God!
.
The heart must know that He is the most exalted of all beings,
dwelling above all
and so I is with our soul, that reaches up for its Maker.

QUOTE…
.
Prayer is the soul’s sincere desire,
unuttered or expressed,
the motion of a hidden fire
that trembles in the breast.
.
Prayer is the burden of a sigh,
the falling of a tear,
the upward glancing of an eye,
when none but God is near.
.
Prayer is the simplest form of speech
that infant lips can try;
prayer the sublimest strains that reach
the Majesty on high.
.
Prayer is the contrite sinners’ voice,
returning from their way,
while angels in their songs rejoice
and cry, "Behold, they pray!"
.
– from the hymn “Prayer Is the Soul’s Sincere Desire”, by James Montgomery.

PRAYER…
.
To You I lift up my eyes, to You who dwell in the heavens,
to You who are always looking out for me!
