We may claim that we acknowledge Him as the Lord our God,

yet, when He teaches us, through His Word and through His Church

as to what is best for us,

and when He directs us in the way we should go,

do we accept His teachings

or do we distance ourselves from Him,

going along our own paths, while selfishly justifying our every move?
