“a Lamp to my feet. a Light for my path.” – Sirach 34:13-17

.

TODAY’S WORD…

.

Those who fear the Lord will live,

because they have put their trust in the One who can save them.

.

Fear the Lord,

and you will have nothing else to fear.

If your trust is in Him, you will never act like a coward.

.

People who fear the Lord are fortunate,

because they know where they can look for help.

.

The Lord watches over those who love Him;

He is their strong protection and firm support.

He shelters them from the heat,

shades them from the noonday sun,

and keeps them from stumbling and falling.

.

He makes them cheerful

and puts a sparkle in their eyes.

He blesses them with life and health.

.

– Sirach 34:13-17 (GNT)

REFLECTION…

.

The only thing that matters is to have a reverential, positive and productive fear of God

– not a mere ‘fear’ of His power and righteous retribution,

but a wholesome dread of displeasing Him.

.

The fear of God is an attitude of respect, a response of reverence and wonder

– it is the only appropriate response to our Creator and Redeemer.

.

.

QUOTE…

.

“Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.

All who obey His commandments will grow in wisdom.

Praise Him forever!”

.

– Psalm 111:10

.

REPETITIVE PRAYER FOR TODAY…

.

Lord, help me always embrace and strengthen the faith which I profess,

that I will always love, revere and obey You, my God.
