TODAY’S WORD…
.
Jesus said,
“For all who exalt themselves will be humbled,
and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
.
– Luke 14:11 (NRSV)
.
.
.
REFLECTION…
.
Humility is so necessary for our salvation
that throughout His life on Earth, Jesus took every opportunity to stress the importance of humility.
.
He implored us to be humble.
He preached and taught about humility.
He showed us how to be humble – all the way to the Cross – by doing it all for us.

.
QUOTES…
.
“True humility is not thinking less of yourself;
it is thinking of yourself less.”
.
– C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
.
.
“These are the few ways we can practice humility:
.
To speak as little as possible of one’s self.
.
To mind one’s own business.
.
Not to want to manage other people’s affairs.
.
To avoid curiosity.
.
To accept contradictions and correction cheerfully.
.
To pass over the mistakes of others.
.
To accept insults and injuries.
.
To accept being slighted, forgotten and disliked.
.
To be kind and gentle even under provocation.
.
Never to stand on one’s dignity.
.
To choose always the hardest.”
.
– Mother Teresa, The Joy in Loving: A Guide to Daily Living.
