TODAY’S WORD…

Whatever we ask God,

we shall receive,

because we keep His commandments

and live the kind of life that He wants.

REFLECTION…

.

“Whatever we ask God,

we shall receive”

This is what Jesus teaches:

"If you abide in me,

and my words abide in you,

ask whatever you will,

and it shall be done for you" [Jn 15:7]

.

.

“Because we keep His commandments”

Jesus points out

that the whole law can be condensed into two commandments:

“‘You shall love the Lord your God

with all your heart,

and with all your soul,

and with all your mind.’

This is the greatest and first commandment.

And a second is like it:

‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’

On these two commandments

hang all the law and the prophets.” [Mat 22:37-40]

Live the kind of life that He wants”

Jesus wants us to live an abundant life:

“I have come that they may have life,

and have it to the full.” [Jn 10:10]

.

.

When we get to know Jesus

and gladly accept Him inside our heart,

we can then truly live our life to the full,

no longer slaves to our earthly bonds and to sin.

It is Jesus Himself who tells us,

“You will know the truth,

and the truth will make you free.” [Jn 8:32].

Lord Jesus, thank You for setting me free with Your truth,

and in my freedom I have chosen You!
