TODAY’S WORD…

For the word of the Lord holds true,
and we can trust everything He does.
He loves whatever is just and good;
the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.

The Lord watches over those who fear Him,
those who rely on His unfailing love.

We put our hope in the Lord.
He is our help and our shield.

REFLECTION…

.

The unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth,

but we so often ignore it;

regard it as interference;

take advantage of it;

even misuse it.

.

He loves whatever is just and good.

And what about us,

do we also love and choose all that is just and good,

or is it a matter of what suits us best at a given moment in time?

.

We can trust everything He does.

But do we,

or have we greater trust in our capricious and selfish instincts?

.

Ultimately

and hopefully when it is not too late,

we will in one way or other realise

that the word of the Lord holds true.

.

Let that “ultimately” be now.

Stop

and call upon the Lord

and welcome Him into your heart

– into its darkest recesses –

and allow Him to fill you with His great love

and to change you

and to strengthen your determination to keep the faith.
