You have put gladness in my heart.

Such is the joy, peace and sense of security

that the Lord bestows on those who seek His face

and rely fully on Him

.

In times of external affliction

God responds by giving inner peace to those who seek Him.

.

As He shines His face on those who believe and trust in Him,

their burdens are made lighter

and they can lie down and sleep in peace

– in the peace and safety that only the Lord can bring.
