“a Lamp to my feet. a Light for my path.” – Amos 5:14

Make it your aim to do what is right, not what is evil,

so that you may live.

Then the Lord God Almighty really will be with you, as you claim He is.

– Amos 5:14 (GNT)

This is a call to conversion.

We are all urged to truly seek God

and that search means seeking only what is good.

“Conversion is accomplished in daily life

by gestures of reconciliation,

concern for the poor,

the exercise and defence of justice and right,

by the admission of faults to one’s brethren,

fraternal correction,

revision of life,

examination of conscience,

spiritual direction,

acceptance of suffering,

endurance of persecution for the sake of righteousness.

Taking up one’s cross each day and following Jesus is the surest way of penance.”

– Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1435

O God, You are my God, and I long for You.

Open the eyes of my heart, O Lord, that I may find You and follow You.
