“a Lamp to my feet. a Light for my path.” – Psalm 96:11-13

.

TODAY’S WORD…

.

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;
let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for He comes,
He comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in His faithfulness.

REFLECTION…

.

The heavens, the earth, the sea, the fields, the trees…

all creation rejoices for the Lord is coming.

But what about you, created in God’s image,

do you rejoice?

.

The answer to that question can be a resounding “Yes!”

and, as you celebrate the Lord,

pure joy will take over your entire being

and will be reflected in what you say, think and do,

and be apparent to all, who will want to share in your joy.

.

The answer can be a confident “Yes!”

but if what you indulge in is actually the celebration of self

then that will only bring you worldly, self-centred, passing happiness

and not true, deep and lasting spiritual joy.

.

Your answer can be “No”,

in which case go humbly before the Lord

and ask Him to send His Holy Spirit upon you

– to console you –

and the Spirit will lead you to the beauty and simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

which He will open the eyes of your heart

and help you find joy, incomparable joy…in the Truth.

.

REPETITIVE PRAYER FOR TODAY…

.

To You I sing with joy, my Jesus.

Reign in me, Lord!
