“a Lamp to my feet. a Light for my path.” – Matthew 9:27-30

TODAY’S WORD…

.

Two blind men followed along behind Jesus, shouting,

“Son of David, have mercy on us!”

They went right into the house where He was staying,

and Jesus asked them,

“Do you believe I can make you see?”

“Yes, Lord,” they told Him, “we do.”

.

Then He touched their eyes and said,

“Because of your faith, it will happen.”

Then their eyes were opened, and they could see!

REFLECTION…

.

This episode makes it easy enough

for us to see that the paradox is true:

there are blind people who in fact see God

and those with sight who see no trace of Him!

.

So many of us lack the faith that moves mountains.

So many of us lack the trust we should have in the Lord.

So many of us prefer to keep the eyes of our heart closed

because we foolishly fear that the Truth may shackle us

rather than set us truly free!

.

PRAYER…

.

Here I am Lord,

have mercy on me

and open my eyes again and again,

so I can keep coming back

to seeing and living Your saving Truth.

.

Yes Lord, I believe, I know, that You can make me see.

I believe in You, Lord,

I trust in You

and only You can bring me out of the darkness

that I keep finding myself in.

.

Son of the Most High,

heal me from my weaknesses,

have mercy on me

and make me see!

.

.

.

REPETITIVE PRAYER FOR TODAY…

.

Lord, have mercy on me and make me see!
