“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’
will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven
Anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it
like a person who builds a house on sand.
When the rains and floods come
and the winds beat against that house,
it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
– Matthew 7:21,26-27 (NLT)
“Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven
will enter [the Kingdom of Heaven].”
To be genuine,
prayer must be accompanied by a persevering effort to do God’s will.
Similarly, in order to do His will
it is not enough to speak about the things of God:
there must be consistency between what one preaches
– what one says
– and what one does.
“Anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it
What authority the Son of God speaks with!
If we, who claim to be Christian, do not strive hard
to act in accordance with the demands of Christ’s teachings,
and to continuously call upon Him to help us,
we begin to weaken in our faith.
We will start saying and doing things which are contrary to our claimed beliefs
and we will eventually part company
with the One who is the Way, the Truth and the Life;
with the One who is the sovereign Judge of the living and the dead.
Lord, I call You in humility.
I call You Lord, in faith,
because You are my Lord and my God;
I call You Lord,
because You are the Way, the Truth and the Life,
and I know that without You I am lost;
without You I live a lie;
without You in my heart my soul is dead.
Help me Lord,
in my determination to seek to do Your will in all circumstances,
and help my soul survive the storms and tempest of life.
Forgive me Lord, when I am weak.
Pick me up and make me strong again,
that I may always walk by Your side.
REPETITIVE PRAYER FOR TODAY…
Lord, Lord, I want to do Your will.
