“a Lamp to my feet. a Light for my path.” – Luke 19:41-42,44

TODAY’S WORD…

.

Jesus came closer to the city,

and when He saw it, He wept over it, saying,

“If you only knew today what is needed for peace!

But now you cannot see it!

.

…you did not recognise the time

when God came to save you!”

.

– Luke 19:41-42,44 (GNT)

REFLECTION…

.

How sad Jesus feels

when He sees city after city,

country after country,

– even though they should know better –

putting the Truth aside

because of a hardening of hearts

and mounting selfishness and pride.

.

God sees us refusing to carry on loving Him

and failing to love one another as He loves us,

…and He weeps,

because He knows that we are destroying ourselves in the process.

QUOTE…

.

“When God is forgotten

…the creature itself grows unintelligible.”

.

“Gaudium et Spes”

.

SHORT PRAYER…

.

Jesus, You are my Lord, You are my Saviour.

Without You, I have no real peace!
