TODAY’S WORD…
.
Jesus said,
“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.”
.
– Matthew 11:28 (NRSV)

REFLECTION…
.
We are tired and weary,
dragging our feet under the weight of our burdens,
and we respond to the Lord’s call and promise
…and we go to Him.
.
If, as we approach Jesus, we stop focusing on ourselves
and, instead, fix our eyes on Him,
we will experience an indescribable joy
– that joy which comes, in spite of the burdens,
from knowing that Jesus is Lord
and that He is there with us…always.
.
Approach Jesus with eyes fixed firmly on Him,
and you will see yourself and your burdens in a different light.
Suddenly, all that counts is being in His presence,
all that matters is knowing that He loves you beyond measure!

QUOTE…
.
“Jesus says now and always,
‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.’
His attitude towards us is one of invitation, knowledge and compassion;
indeed, it is one of offering, promise, friendship, goodness, remedy of our ailments;
He is our comforter; indeed, our nourishment, our bread,
giving us energy and life.”
.
– Blessed Pope Paul VI

REPETITIVE PRAYER FOR TODAY…
.
Here I am Jesus, my God, my Saviour;
here are my burdens, my worries, my sufferings,
but here too is my joy
which comes from knowing that You love me
and that You are my Lord.
I love You, Jesus, and I praise and thank You!
