TODAY’S WORD…
.
I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God.
I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.
.
I will praise You forever, O God,
for what You have done.
I will trust in Your good name
in the presence of Your faithful people.
.
– Psalm 52:8-9 (NLT)

REFLECTION…
.
In the land of the Bible,
the olive tree was, and is, the most important of all the trees
because it is a source of food, lamp-lights, hygiene and healing.
Beautiful to look at
with their unique gnarled and twisted trunks and evergreen tops,
they can thrive in great heat with a minimum of water,
and are virtually indestructible.
.
No matter the conditions of life,
and the situations I find myself in,
as a true Christian I should remain
as steadfast as an olive tree in the presence of God
– evergreen, faithful, and bearing fruit.
.

.
PRAYER…
.
My Lord and my God,
I declare my love for You.
I believe in You
and I am nothing without You.
.
Grant, O Lord, that I will always be true to You;
steadfast in faith;
determined in my resolve;
and ever-joyful in my attitude.
.
I will praise You forever, O God,
for all that You do for me.
.
Amen.
.

.
REPETITIVE PRAYER FOR TODAY…
.
I will praise You forever, O God,
for all that You do for me.

YEAR OF FAITH 2012-2013
FROM THE CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH…
.
To believe is to say "Amen" to God’s words, promises and commandments;
to entrust oneself completely
to Him who is the "Amen" of infinite love and perfect faithfulness.
.
The Christian’s everyday life will then be the "Amen"
to the "I believe" of our baptismal profession of faith:
.
“May your Creed be for you as a mirror.
Look at yourself in it,
to see if you believe everything you say you believe.
And rejoice in your faith each day.”(Isa 65:16)
