“a Lamp to my feet. a Light for my path.” – Psalm 119:33-37

.

TODAY’S WORD…and PRAYER

.

Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes,
and I will observe it to the end.
Give me understanding, that I may keep Your law
and observe it with my whole heart.
.

Lead me in the path of Your commandments,
for I delight in it.
Turn my heart to Your decrees,
and not to selfish gain.
Turn my eyes from looking at vanities;
give me life in Your ways.

.

FROM THE CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH…

.

[…] Lifting up the mind toward God

is an expression of our adoration of God:

prayer of praise and thanksgiving, intercession and petition.

.

Prayer is an indispensable condition for being able to obey God’s commandments.

.

"[We] ought always to pray and not lose heart." (Lk 18:1)
