TODAY’S WORD…
.
Do not let your love be a pretence,
but sincerely prefer good to evil.
.
– Romans 12:9 (JB)
.
.
.
REFLECTION…
.
That which is evil…
Sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,
idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife,
jealousy, fits of anger,
rivalries, dissensions, divisions,
envy, drunkenness, orgies,
and things like these. (Gal 5:19-21)
.
That which is good…
Love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Gal 5:22-23)
.
The choice is ours.
.
.
.
PRAYER…
.
My Lord, my God, my Jesus,
You are Good.
.
Lord, I have chosen You.
I want to be with You.
I want to be like You.
I want to be one with You.
.
Send Your Holy Spirit, Lord,
to fill me with Your love,
and to change me,
to console me,
to counsel me,
and to strengthen my resolve
to always choose good over evil.
.
Lord, this is my desire
– to always live in Your glorious light.
.
Amen

REPETITIVE PRAYER FOR TODAY…
.
Lord Jesus, help me be more like You.

YEAR OF FAITH 2012-2013
FROM THE CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH…
.
A morally good act requires the goodness of the object, of the end, and of the circumstances together.
An evil end corrupts the action, even if the object is good in itself (such as praying and fasting "in order to be seen by men").
.
The object of the choice can by itself vitiate an act in its entirety.
There are some concrete acts – such as fornication – that it is always wrong to choose,
because choosing them entails a disorder of the will, that is, a moral evil.
.
[CCC 1755]
.
.
[…] One may not do evil so that good may result from it.
